The TB-SH 05 Underwater Telephone (SATEL) produced under a technology transfer contract as per the license granted by TÜBİTAK BİLGEM, is a microprocessor-controlled communications system that provides communication between surface and submarine vessels via acoustic waves.

Communication can be established via telephone and telegram. Using the microphone, audio signals can be transmitted at the channel frequency specified by the operator. The audio sent by the corresponding ship is reproduced by SATEL speakers (or headphones), (if any) by the auxiliary unit’s speakers (or headphones), or (if any) the Internal Communication Speakers.

Flexibility for Usage

Part Number: MSTL-0001 / NSN: 5998270708037

SATEL can record audio signals sent or received by the system for 24 hours, and the recorded files can be transferred to any computer via an SD card.  An optional Auxiliary Unit that enables communication with a different point onboard is also available. SATEL comes in sock-insulated freestanding desktop and 19” rack-mountable versions.

SATEL is a NATO-compatible solution that is open to development, including JANUS protocol.
